| If you've read IF ROCK AND ROLL WERE A MACHINE, one of Terry Davis's memorable novels, you already know the author has long been in love with classic cycles. He opened Clandestine Classic Cycles in Rapidan, Minnesota briefly in 2007 and the two worlds collided, with blissful results. Now he's back to writing new screenplays and stories of his own! |

NEWS BRIEFS
VISION QUEST remake to feature TWILIGHT star?
It's possible, according to reports from E! and other online sources. TWILIGHT star Taylor Lautner (Jacob) would play the new Louden Swain. Who might be his older woman? It's anyone's guess, but read more about the possibility HERE.
Time Machine and The Invisible Man
are classics, of course, written by H.G. Wells. But Terry Davis adapted the stories for outstanding graphic novels for Stone Arch publications. Read more about them HERE and HERE.

Davis's IMDb page
forcuses on Vision Quest, but watch for it to expand in the near future. Davis has completed the screenplay for Chris Crutcher's award winning 2001 novel WHALE TALK -- and that screenplay is being seriously considered for production by several major Hollywood studios. STAYING FAT FOR SARAH BYRNES and DEADLINE are also on his desk for adaptation.

GUYS WRITE FOR GUYS READ
Davis contributed a remarkable essay to Jon Scieszka's wonderful Viking anthology, GUYS WRITE FOR GUYS READ. Dozens of boy-centric authors -- including Chris Crutcher, Will Weaver, Chris Lynch, Walter Dean Myers, and many more -- left their marks, but none more tender than Davis's. Available this month.

About Davis's story in RUSH HOUR -- "SIN"
"The most striking and potentially controversial story in the collection is 'The Silk Ball' by Terry Davis, which weaves Hmong folklore into a story about the United States' secret war in Laos during the Vietnam period. Graphic violence and sexuality punctuate a story filled with poetic vision, longing and loss. Adults may be hesitant to let their young ones read this material, never mind the fact that the characters in the story --- and the age of actual soldiers in military conflicts then and now --- are closer to the age of the intended readers than the adults who would want to shield impressionable young minds from such material." Praise for VISION QUEST
"Davis is a wonderful storyteller...VISION QUEST is the truest novel about growing up since THE CATCHER IN THE RYE; and it's a better novel about wrestling, and wrestlers, than THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP."
~John Irving
"The book is still fresh and true to life...Eastern Washington University Press has done a service to a new generation of young readers."
~Jim Naughton , Washington Post, June 2, 2002

| “The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy & Goth Girl has the weight and unequivocal intensity of great literature for any readership. Barry Lyga’s first novel transcends type by pushing deep and far with the characters at hand, particularly the too-smart-for-his-own-good, outcast narrator. From the very opening pages, sophisticated readers will recognize that they are in the hands of a very smart writer.” -–Terry Davis |
